NORAD Tracks Santa

Postby Nortonbeak » Fri Dec 14, 2007 6:36 pm

An early warning this year. :)

NORAD will be tracking Santa on Christams Eve. NORAD has included Google Earth this year so you may well be able to watch Santa fly over your own house.

This is worth watching as it is done in real time and follows Santa as he delivers presents all over the world.

We had it on last year for the first time.

Do they track the Tooth Fairy too?

And what about Lord Lucan?

Because of the speed that Santa has to travel, NORAD can pick up his radiation trail.

If you follow his progress on the site, you will see that NORAD jets can sometimes get close enough for a photograph.

It is nearly 6pm on Christmas Eve and Santa has just passed Marion and Prince Edward Islands in South Africa.

It looks like he is keeping good time so far.

If anybody uses Google Earth then click the button to follow Santa on there - it keeps updating every few seconds.

Also check out the Norad Santa videos, they are on YouTube and I think they are great.

Last Year there were guest presenters.

Jonathan Ross did the commentary as Santa covered the UK.
